Accountant

Gomes Haulage Limited, a Construction, Transport and Logistics company based in Ndola, is inviting applications for the position of Accountant (1 position) to be based in Ndola.

Job purpose

The Accountant will manage the company's financial operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain compliance with statutory requirements and provide financial advisory support to management.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing monthly management accounts, financial statements and cash flow projections.
• Managing accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger reconciliations.
• Preparing and monitoring budgets and conducting variance analysis.
• Ensuring compliance with ZRA tax regulations (VAT, PAYE, Income Tax, Withholding Tax).
• Managing payroll processing and NAPSA/NHIMA contributions.
• Handling bank reconciliations and treasury management.
• Liaising with external auditors, ZRA and other regulatory bodies.
• Maintaining proper books of accounts and filing systems.

Qualifications and experience

• Grade 12 Certificate.
• Degree in Accounting/Finance, or full ACCA/CIMA/ZICA professional qualification (mandatory).
• Minimum 2-3 years of proven work experience.
• Must be a registered member of ZICA.
• Strong knowledge of accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Pastel or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
• Knowledge of Zambian taxation laws.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality and attention to detail.
