Dispatch Assistant

L&A Logistics, Zambia's distributor of choice, is seeking a Dispatch Assistant to join its Lusaka team on a full-time basis.

About the Role

The Dispatch Assistant will ensure that customer orders are dispatched accurately, on time and securely, while safeguarding stock integrity and supporting a high standard of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Check customer invoices and dispatch orders for accuracy, and count stock with drivers before loading to confirm it matches the invoices.
• Ensure invoices leave the warehouse signed and stamped, inspect customer returns for description, condition and quantity, and complete credit note requests with all required signatures and supporting documents.
• Ensure drivers and company representatives have the necessary goods-returned books.
• Lock stock cages once orders have been checked and load stock directly from the cage to the vehicle to prevent shrinkage.
• Check supplier deliveries against invoices for quantity, description and expiry dates.
• Support continuous improvement of dispatch processes by documenting daily dispatch activities.
• Follow Health, Safety and Environmental procedures in accordance with Zambian regulations.

Qualifications and Skills

• Full Grade 12 certificate, including English.
• A Microsoft Office (Excel) certificate is an advantage.
• At least 4 years' experience in FMCG supply chain management.
• Good IT skills, particularly with spreadsheets, databases and warehouse systems.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• A team player with good communication skills.
