Finance Manager

Baobab College is seeking a highly motivated, reliable and commercially experienced Finance Manager to join its Senior Leadership Team in Zambia.

About the Role

• The Finance Manager is an integral member of the Senior Leadership Team and plays a key role in driving the school's strategic development.
• The successful candidate will help the school maintain its high standards while advancing its vision.

Job Purpose

• Responsible for the day-to-day running of the Finance Department, including but not limited to fee billing, procurement, payroll and all statutory payments.
• Responsible for ensuring the school remains compliant with Zambia's financial regulators.

Main Duties

• Prepare the annual budget for review by the Principal and the Board of Governors' Finance Committee.
• Produce the school's statutory accounts and oversee all audits.
• Develop a financial direction aligned with the Strategic Plan to support the school's growth, and occasionally lead fundraising initiatives.
• Take responsibility for areas outside finance, including estate management, health and safety, and commercial activities.

Reporting Line

• Reports directly to the Principal and ultimately to the Board of Governors.

Minimum Qualifications

• A postgraduate degree in finance or a related field.
• Membership of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants.
• A professional qualification from ZICA, ACCA or CIMA.

Minimum Experience

• At least 7 years' experience in a senior leadership position.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and lead fundraising.
• Experience in a leadership role covering strategic planning, administration, financial management and project management.
• Knowledge of Zambian financial laws, regulations and compliance.
• Strong IT skills, including MS Office and financial systems.
• Experience managing a diverse and multicultural staff team.
