Malawi Institute of Tourism (MIT) Lingadzi Inn is hiring a Head Chef to lead kitchen operations and uphold its food service standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism or in Food Production.
• Four years of working experience.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Preparing kitchen checklists.
• Developing and promoting new menu ideas and special food events.
• Allocating work and supervising kitchen staff.
• Monitoring sectional plans and budgets.
• Maintaining kitchen inventory.
• Preparing duty rosters for kitchen staff.
• Preparing food.
• Implementing hotel standard operating procedures.
• Liaising with food and beverage staff on event management and menu compiling.
• Ordering supplies from stores.
• Compiling and submitting reports.
• Up-selling hotel products.
• Inducting new employees in the kitchen.
• Participating in food costing.
