Hospital Driver

Nkhamenya Community Hospital, a Catholic health facility of Mzuzu Diocese, is recruiting a Hospital Driver to support its mission of providing accessible, quality health care to the rural community.

Duties

• Check water, oil and fuel levels every morning before setting off.
• Check tyres and tyre pressure every morning before setting off and whenever necessary.
• Courteously and professionally drive staff members to outreach clinics on designated days.
• Courteously and professionally drive patients referred to other hospitals.
• Courteously and professionally drive staff members on duty or hospital business.
• Record opening and closing mileage after every trip.
• Keep the vehicle clean, both inside and outside, at all times.
• Monitor the expiry of the Certificate of Fitness and insurance, and report to administration one week before the due date.
• Ensure the vehicle is driven only by personnel authorised by administration.
• Ensure the vehicle is driven within the speed limit of not more than 100 km/h, as directed by the Diocese.
• Ensure the spare wheel, jack and tool box are always in the vehicle and in working order.

Requirements

• Be a practicing Christian.
• Have at least 2 years' experience in this or a similar post.
• Have a traceable record.
• Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.

Contract

• Successful candidates for the Hospital Driver post will be engaged on a 3-year contract, renewable depending on performance.

Remuneration

• A competitive remuneration package in line with the Government of Malawi Salary Scale will be offered to successful candidates.
