Quantity Surveyor

Sico Civils is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join its team, working between the Head Office and project sites on a full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate Bills of Quantities (BoQs), cost estimates and tender documentation for upcoming civil and construction projects
• Manage subcontractor accounts, evaluate progress claims and administer construction contracts to maintain cost control
• Monitor project expenditure against budgets, carry out variance analysis and prepare monthly financial reports for management
• Assist in evaluating tenders, negotiate with suppliers and contractors, and procure materials cost-effectively
• Identify potential financial risks on projects and assist in negotiating variations and settling claims

Key Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field, with professional registration with the Board of Architects and Quantity Surveyors of Malawi
• Minimum of 5 years of proven professional experience in quantity surveying within the civil engineering or construction sector
• Proficiency in industry-standard estimating software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong analytical ability, meticulous attention to detail, sound negotiation skills, integrity, and the capacity to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
