Sales Rep

We are seeking a Sales Rep to sell our steel and fabrication products within our hardware materials supply business. The ideal candidate will be well networked in the manufacturing, mining and farming sectors and able to sell to both B2B and B2C clients in order to meet sales targets.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prospecting and lead generation – identify and approach potential customers in the manufacturing, mining and farming sectors who require engineering, fabrication, repairs or maintenance services.
• Customer visits and relationship building – visit factories, mines, farms and industrial businesses to build relationships with owners, managers, engineers and procurement officers.
• Identifying customer needs – understand customers' engineering requirements, equipment problems, fabrication needs and operational challenges to identify sales opportunities.
• Presenting and selling services – promote the company's engineering and fabrication capabilities and convince prospective customers to use its services.
• Quotations and tender follow-ups – work with the technical team to prepare quotations, submit proposals and tenders, negotiate terms and follow up until decisions are made.
• Closing sales and securing orders – convert enquiries and quotations into confirmed orders, negotiate profitable contracts and consistently achieve monthly sales and revenue targets.
• Customer retention and repeat business – maintain relationships with existing customers, follow up on completed jobs, resolve customer concerns and generate repeat orders and referrals.
• Sales reporting and pipeline management – maintain accurate records of prospects, customer visits, quotations, follow-ups and confirmed orders, and submit regular sales reports.

The primary performance measure for this role is consistently generating profitable sales revenue through new customers, repeat business and secured contracts.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree or diploma in a business-related subject
• 5 years sales experience
• Driver's licence
